Need to replant them around the world
Good job to humans for tearing these down along most major coastlines.
That’s amazing!
Man has spent centuries trying to tame the ocean, and these little trees are like “I stand in defiance of you, and that which you cannot conquer.”
My parents lived on a boat in the Caribbean in 1979 when Hurricane David tore through the area. They anchored up in a mangrove swamp with a few other boats to ride out the storm, all of them survived pretty much unscathed.
Natural breakwater
Oh sure mangroves protect cities & homes from catastrophic damage, but they don’t exactly look pretty, do they?
No, better to tear them out.
I feel like every aquatic-related museum I’ve gone to, I’ve seen a visual for mangrove trees reducing wave forces and coastal erosion
Don’t forget the womangroves and childrengroves, too.
trees can grown in salt water?
Sure, but if we don’t pave over them, where will we put the chemical plants?
And people still buy farmed tropical shrimp..
Should probably have mangroves in places that tend to floods. It may help.
Thanks Mangroves!

Don’t worry folks, we gotchu! 👍
Thanks for doing that, mangroves.
Put a Walmart there
The municipal authorities in Mumbai think they can just “replant” saplings in some far off location to offset the destruction of the rich mangrove coastline.
Umm its 2025, peoplegroves
“don’t make me take you into the mangroves…”
Cause they take all the shit
OMG
Its funny how this came up. Currently researching how to apply mangroves in my landscape.
But! How’s the fishing?
Sorry but… was this not obvious?
That’s natures gift for you! It’s stunning how FL real estate tycoons would see this video and go:

BEAUTIFUL
@sundaysarthak
This reminds me of sea oats, sand dunes, and why walking on either is illegal in most places. I grew up on Florida’s Gulf Coast. From a young age, I was always taught not to walk on the sea oats and sand dunes because they help protect us during hurricanes. The sea oats’ dense network of roots helps to anchor the dunes in place.
This is the day they became mengroves
What amazing is the the mangroves are the vaccine of Florida which keeps them safe. But they’ll cut them down

Why AREN’T we finding a way to grow these along all coastlines vulnerable to hurricanes?
Nature’s tesla valves.
That shore is interesting to watch.
I remember when I was a kid, the school had a cleanup the shore project. As an adult now, I got how important it really is.
They tough!
Florida about to remove the mangroves next.
