These should be illegal. I can’t imagine UV deteriorating it doesn’t release some amount of microplastics in the water. That and there is no transpiration happening so the area and grass itself is hotter
When my dad was a kid back when dinosaurs roamed the earth he had a neighbor that kept letting his grass get long and everyone would complain. Eventually he got so fed up that he paved the entire yard in concrete and painted it green. After that people left him alone, fearing another “monkey paw” response.
When we moved back to San Diego, I told my wife I didn’t want grass… Watering it, lawn service, etc was a pain in the ass… There are people in our neighborhood with that fake ass-troturf grass… We put rock down, and once in a while, I pull what attempts to grow in the cracks of our flagstones…
kinda tangential; is there a subreddit for alternative lawns? not like, fake turf/concrete/bullshit lawns, i mean like, the people that found mosses and ground-cover plants that are way more awesome than grass?
I’m way into plants and trees and bonsai and green stuff in general. It’s a well-known thing that a lot of people have “plant blindness”. They don’t see plants around them as living things. They step on bushes, they break off branches, etc. Whenever I see people with turf as a lawn, I assume that they’re ignorant to the world we live in.

Turf wars
Looks like they didn’t properly smother the grass below it before installing the turf. Likely an amateur install job.

Micro plastics for every generation! Hoozaaah!
Fake it till you make it?
This is so funny to me. Nature took one look at that tacky nonsense and said absolutely the fuck NOT
Nature always finds a way.
Nature is reclaiming the place from that horrible fake grass that should be outlawed! Go for it grass! 😁
Someone did a real shit job installing that fake grass.
I hate fake grass. Yes let’s just pollute the ground further with unstable plastic shit.
grasstroturf
In a million years scientists will see a thick layer of plastic that will represent our era lol
Fake grass is really trashy. 😮
Looks more like weeds but ya!
Ban fake plastic grass
nature will prevail
Cool.
Looks abysmal 🤣
Good fake grass sucks
“Oh no, nature is getting on my plastics”
Nature always wins
Why even bother living if you have a lawn of fake grass
Nature finds a way

Nature, uh, finds a way
Fake it till it makes it

Way simpler to deal with than fake ass grass

champagne problem

Looks like he said no to the layer of weed guard to save a buck
Improper installation and maintenance.

Noice
That fake shit looks so cheap and tacky. Just landscape for native plants. They usually thrive in your native habitat. Go figure.
This is what HOA members see in their nightmares
Grassception. We have to go deeper.
Maybe they are dead? Overrun their house.
Life finds a way .
Is this a metaphor for America?
Don’t let the HOA see this. $5000 fine and home taken away lol
