>Despite his contacting Microsoft and the enforcement team at Xbox Live to reassure them that it was a real place they refused to check its validity.
This is known as the “Scunthorpe problem”, after people from Scunthorpe were not allowed to sign up for OG Xbox Live.
My first name has cum right in the middle of it which made having it on any Microsoft profile absolutely forbidden let alone having it as a username.
Microsoft did a thorough investigation. They searched with Bing.
Obviously it’s because there’s no East Virginia and therefore West Virginia can’t be real either.
Literally from the town over, and remember when that kid got banned. Funniest shit ever. He got his account suspended.
Reminds me of when Blessing from Kinda Funny Games talked about how when he first moved the the west coast he made a couple dating profiles, and they kept getting deleted because the companies would not believe that his real name was Blessing
Gaylord, Michigan offered to relocate him yet?
Kinda fucked up that being gay, or the word gay is offensive to Microsoft.
There was a dude with “null” in his name, he had various troubles with services because his name caused havoc in databases. If I’m not wrong he had a problem with his driving license because the system did not recognize his name
It didn’t show up on Bing maps.
It is better that 10 guilty men escape than 1 innocent man suffer
I only see where the user, who was only banned for a few days, indicated he “missed a key game” that his “team” ended up losing. Where did you read that this was an actual tournament?
A couple years ago I couldnt order anything from PlayStation because my apartment was P101 and anything with a “P” was automatically rejected because the system thought it was a PO box.
The player tried to enter the tournament the next year after moving to Fort Really Gay.
He was probably fucked anyway. West Virginia has notoriously slow internet speeds even in the populated areas.
I’ve always wondered how this worked. Near where I live there is a Cocks Rd. Every time I pass it I wonder how much of a frustration that must be for them for how trigger happy auto-censors are.
Sounds exactly like reddit mods. Get proven wrong, double down on their nonsense
“Don’t Say Gay” is not only a stupid idea – IT’S THE LAW.
My dads family is from Ft Gay. I’m not surprised at all by this, lol
For added fun, Fort Gay in French means “quite gay”… Like if you said “il est fort gay” you said he is quite gay.
That’s like ESPN when they locked me out of my fantasy football account for using Dicker in my name. I had just won a matchup off of a stellar performance from Cameron Dicker.
Hey I live around there. There’s a bridge with a stoplight and a right turn.
That’s gay
To be fair, they should’ve just made him pick another town close by, or just put the county he was in. I’m just thinking of the tons of players who would make Fort Gay their hometown if it was made official.
