Randomly and surprisingly came across a sea snake while on a quick snorkel in the Caribbean off the Yucatán. Not a normal sight there I guess.
At first I thought it was an eel I was unaware of (I had turned my head and was suddenly facing it head on from 3 feet away). I thought “cool!” And admired it for a minute then moved on.
The next morning a guy at the dock said, “Did you hear about the baby banded sea snakes that swam through here yesterday!!!!?!”. Grateful to my dive master years ago for teaching me to leave animals alone and just admire them from safe distances!
Moray eel blood is toxic for humans, don’t know about reptiles like sea snakes, I wonder if the snake started having convulsions and spasms due to toxins.

Snakes, both aquatic and terrestrial, will regurgitate a recently swallowed meal if sufficiently spooked, because it’s easier for them to get away.
This snake probably spat up the eel because the diver recording this video spooked them.
Second time this week I’m on the toilet and see a snake clip and this freaks me out.
