While reading a large biography about Bacon “ Revelations “ by Mark Stevens ( also did a terrific bio on DeKooning) in it he describes his unbelievably cluttered studio with numerous clippings, photo stills from movies and magazines, one was the close up of the woman shot through the eyeglasses in Battleship Potemkin, others were Chaim Soutines carcass painting, which was a copy of Rembrandt’s Ox.
