In 2012, over 2,000 Koreans gathered to watch a man pitch a 24-man army tent by himself after he claimed on an internet forum that he could do it in under two hours. The event even attracted corporate sponsors. The man succeeded, taking about an hour to pitch the tent by himself.

Dude took an hour and 29 mins. But he stopped during it to post online, pose for pictures etc, he knew he was gonna do it.

> The T24 Festival, also known as the T24 Social Festival, was an event on September 8, 2012, in the Yangcheon District of Seoul, South Korea, during which former soldier Lee Kwang-nak was challenged to set up a 24-person military tent single-handedly in under 2 hours. The demonstrative event was organized by Lee after he had stated online on August 30, 2012, that he could do it alone, thus provoking disbelief from others; customarily, such a tent is erected as a team effort, usually by eight soldiers or more, rarely fewer.
> Specifically taking place at Shinwon Elementary School, the T24 Festival drew over 2,000 people and involved corporate sponsorships, widespread media coverage and online attention, and high-profile attendees including the singer Lexy.
This is the Korean version of watching a guy eat an entire rotisserie chicken.
I feel sorry for the people in the army who suffered because of this.
Why have 24 people do it when it’s clearly proven one guy could do it.
>!/s!<
I could do that. I just don’t fancy it today.
I guess this is entertaining to them because of compulsory service? Like, most dudes in their country have done this and can relate, but never tried alone?
Imagine being the guy who bet against him… ouch
This should be an Olympic sport. Not specifically the tent-pitching, but the event of ‘having to prove internet forum claims’. It would be awesome watching people either fail ridiculously or alternatively there would be spectacles like this where people achieve feats that we thought were wildly outlandish claims!
That’s a 24-man tent?! I mean in Finnish army you have tents half of the size and even more ppl inside.
I have no context for how difficult or easy that is, but the crowd seems to like it.
2010s – simpler times. I miss them.
This is the hell yeah-est shit I’ve seen today.
Love how he cheers to the crowd before the camera pans up showing a flyover from fucking commercial airliner like that’s a normal thing to happen
Cool T-shirt 😅
Imagine telling your boss your weekend plans involve watching a tent speedrun
That sucks, when I offered let people watch me pitch a tent, they called the fucking cops.
Normally when I pitch a tent in front of 2000 people and corporate sponsors it’s slightly less well received
Meanwhile, my husband spent more than two hours trying to pitch an ez set up dining canopy by himself because he refused to ask for help.
I got out my lawn chair and made popcorn to watch. He was not amused.
Well I’m no expert but he seems to have done it uder 60 seconds as per your video.
I pitch a tent like that every time I see Anna Kendrick…
Speaking of pitching tents…

And yes I’m acknowledging how its weird thats socially acceptable to comment as a woman on a man but would be extremely no no the other way around.
I’ll be more impressed if he can get it neatly back in the bag on the first try.
One man army
All the ladies love a man who can pitch a big tent 🏕️
imagine saying you can do something and 2000 people turn up IRL like “bet, show us then”
*Are you not entertained*
New olympic sport, Competitive Tent Pitching.
*Exaggerated eyebrow waggle*
With those abs how could he not?
Korean officers: Interesting…
Korean enlisted: Aw, fuck…
When I pitch a tent I don’t want people to see it ever…
For those unfamiliar Korea has mandatory military service. Every young man learns how to pitch this exact tent as a team with their platoon.
So that means that every man in this country has pitched this exact model of tent that way. They know that it is remarkable to do it solo. Much less to not need 8x the number of hours of the entire platoon.
This isn’t some dude getting a weird bet and showing up. This is a common-man who has done something everyone is familiar with and setting a record. Which is why it got so much buzz over there.
“The event even attracted corporate sponsors” like they enriched the event with their presence. They saw a chance to use this guy to manipulate people into giving them money. It’s sickening.
I bet that was in tents for him.
Pretty intents video to watch.
Just missing 5 o’clock charlie
I love how hyped up the crowd is
Did you guys see they guy eat a whole bucket of cheese puffs in Central Park?
So the assembly instruction now says it only takes one person and one hour to pitch the tent?
Now that’s entertainment!
He really is the main character
‘Bout 10mins Sarge.
10mins later
‘Bout 10mins Sarge…
i will think of this the next time im too lazy to get tothe gym
Brah I was in the army I could do it in 30 minutes and have a fridge going with beers, unless I’m missing something
The jokes kinda write themselves on this one.
The FSU eat a cup of shit guy should take notice how promises work
They even had a flyover for him 🤩
But did he get it all back in the original bag.
I’ve seen a guy pitch a bigger one by himself (about 3m high, 5m wide and 20m long). Took him under 2 hours. I’ve done the same one with just 2 people. It’s honestly not that hard if you know what you’re doing
When I “pitch a tent” there are no crowds 🙁
