ご存知でしたか?観光客はローマの象徴的なトレヴィの泉に毎日約3,000ユーロを投げ入れており、年間約150万ユーロにも上るのです。
Did you know that tourists toss nearly €3,000 into Rome’s iconic Trevi Fountain every day, adding up to around €1.5 million each year?

At one point there was a guy who used to show up every day a few hours after midnight and take about €300 out of the fountain. It was only a minor fraction of what went in so the government who collected the money didn’t realise, but for him it was over €100,000 per year so it was a decent income. Eventually they installed CCTV and he was caught but he did it for years until that point.
Always used to tell my wife, that if we want free money that we just need to put a fountain in our front yard.
Without lifting a finger but there are literally five people on camera helping to clean up the pennies
Worked at a casino count room. 3.5 million a day. So everyday I touched more money then I would make in a lifetime.
That math ain’t mathin’…
€3000 X 365 = €1,095,000
Where’s the other €415,000 from?
Who gets those ‘funds?’
So 10% of Italians make more than 1.5 million Euro a year? Wow…
10% of Italians make more than €1.5 million a year each?
That soundtrack gotta go, why does everyone feel like they have to slap some dumb music on to every video, I would have preferred just the actual audio
Whoever runs that fountain and owns that money should sell tickets for $10 or so to tourists as a raffle. If you have the winning ticket you get all the money at the end of the year. People on vacation would spend that without hesitation. They’d make far more than whatever is in the fountain.
This was my wish, my dream, and it didn’t come true. So I’m taking it back.I’m taking them all back.
Pure profit, too. That fountain still runs on the water system the Romans built, right?
I should build a fountain.
Lol. Me, my wife, and my daughter tossed in Sacagawea coins in there a month ago.
According to the OECD numbers less than 0.1% of Italians make more than €1.5M a year. I am not sure what this person is talking about. Also 3K * 365 does not 1.5M make.
Yeah well…my money don’t jingle jingle.
It folds.
I’m just wondering, if they do this regularly (clean the pool), then why can’t they use vacuum cleaners? After all, there are models for production where there is a stronger thrust, it is possible to sort fractions and many other functions. What’s the fun of standing there waving shovels like that?
The real question is how much do the workers keep?
Atleast enough for a lunchtime pizza surely?
Now there’s a job with plenty of tips. You moaning Americans should apply here.
356 x 3000 is barely 1 million like wtf is this title
€1.5 million a year?
Do you think I could possibly make that much if I lied down on the sidewalk and pretended to be a fountain?
Do you think think they still get the odd Roman coin?
So 10% of Italians make over 1.5 million a year? God damn they’re a rich country
I used to work security at a place with a big fountain. At night we were supposed to collect the money and put it in a charity box.
There’d often be homeless people trying to collect anything more than a penny before we got there.
Some dudes would get mad, like “that homeless guy is stealing from charity!”, and I’m like, they’re homeless, I don’t think that means a whole lot in their position.
Meanwhile, I started suspecting that there was a “[Collect $10]. Here are your $8. Thanks for giving me that $6.” situation going on.
New business model: stop Airbnb, destroy the building and build a fountain instead!
For those who are wondering: the money is collected periodically and goes to a charity
But the wishes are rescinded when the coins are taken out.
10% of Italians make more than 1.5M a year??
Humans are idiots.
They are literally lifting their arms in the video
When I was there, it was under repair so f me 🙁
Someone tell that fountain to quit begging for money and get a job!
Putting a $100 bill up my ass it’s good luck as well
For it to add up to 1.5 million/ year (no rest days) it must be collecting an average 4109€ per day
Throw in “3.000” a day. That is what is counted and brought to whomever. I’m sure, No bags of coins come up missing
I’ve been there many times just observing people and it’s nowhere near €300/ day. I call BS. In peak season for like a couple months sure but not every single day.
Build a business that makes money without you having to lift a finger and works while you sleep.
Every YouTube financial guru’s wet dream.
I sat and watch so many tik toks being filmed here last summer. And so much more money being tossed in the fountains. It was crazy. Just so much money.
What does the deposit process look like for all those coins?
Decades ago a friend of my godfather’s took his family and me to the Toronto Zoo. In one instance there was a waterfall and he jumped in and started throwing the money onto the walkway. It was funny.
10% of Italians make over 1.5 million a year?
Even in Rome, seat of God’s ambassador on Earth.
We’re still making sacrifices to some half-remembered water god, bribing her to grant us good fortune, on the condition that we keep our agreement secret.
Try as they might, they’ll never burn the paganism out of us.
10% of Italians make equal or more than 1.5 million euros a year?
That fountain could be a politician
10% of Italians make over 1.5million a year?
*literally a video of them lifting a finger*
